SIMILAN QUEEN DIVING CENTER
We are a stand alone PADI certified, dive training center and we take the time to teach every student at their own pace. We own and operate our very comfortable 90 ft boat which is fully equipped to cater for all facets of Scuba dive training. Breakfast in the morning and a hot cooked lunch, prepared daily by our onboard cook is included, as is fresh fruit, tea / coffee and water. Free Hotel transfers are included from 75% of Phuket and we also include return Airport transfers, to all those who book a course with us, this on it’s own is a saving to you of approximately 2,000.- THB.
Included in our Open Water learn to dive course is a Divers log book, Laminated Fish ID card and a Similan Queen Polo shirt.
The Advanced Diver course includes a Similan Queen Polo shirt as well.
We have a 98 room partner hotel in Patong and can offer great accommodation packages too.
Boat Description
Similan Queen is 26m long and 5.8m wide and has been purpose built of solid timber planking. It has twin V10 diesel engines, 2x generators, 2x L&W Compressors, 3x 25 man liferafts, 70x Lifevests, Oxygen & resuscitation and medical kits. 80x dive tanks, BCD”s (Bouyancy Control Devices) regulators, fins, masks, snorkels, weight belts & weights are all available. It has a large seated saloon area and 2x sun areas to lay back on & enjoy the trip, all the time soaking up the atmosphere or using the free WiFi to communicate with friends. The boat is fully Thai licenced and insured to carry 70 people and 5 crew. There is a full time cook onboard everyday to serve hot delicious food, with Halal and Vegetarian being catered for. Tea, coffee, hot and cold water are readily available.
Ric White
Scuba Diver & Owner – Similan Queen Dive Centre Ric White, born in Melbourne, Australia and grew up in Adelaide, South Australia, working in the Construction and Transport Industries. Ric has been diving for most of his 66 years, having learnt in Adelaide in the 60’s diving at Glenelg & Victor Harbour. He purchased the Phuket Dive Boat “The Similan Queen” from Aloha tours at Chalong in November 2012. It was not in a good condition above the waterline and he spent a considerable amount of money bringing it back to a HIGH standard of Safety and compliance. This work took about 6 months to complete and was finished just before June 2013
