If all you dream about is diving, the PADI Divemaster Course enables you to do just that! The first of PADI’s professional level courses, training to become a Divemaster is the initial step toward turning your hobby into a career, and along with that, achieving a dream lifestyle!

During your Divemaster Course you will work closely with an experienced PADI Instructor to refine your own diving skills and knowledge, as well as learn how to lead and supervise others divers. Once your Divemaster Course is complete, you are then within easy reach of becoming a fully Certified PADI Diving Instructor.

Why Take the PADI Divemaster Course?

As a PADI Divemaster you can:

  • Supervise both training and non-training-related activities by planning, organizing and directing dives
  • Assist a PADI Instructor during the training sessions for any PADI Diver course
  • Accompany and supervise diving students for specific parts of the their course, under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
  • Conduct a range of diving programs experiences, for example Scuba Reviews, Discover Local Diving
    Independently guide students on the tour portion of their training dives

Divemaster Course Requirements

To take the Divemaster course, you need to:

  • Be aged 18 years, or older
  • Hold a PADI Rescue Diver certification, or equivalent
  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR qualification, with certification date within the last two years. If you don’t have this, don’t worry, we can arrange an EFR (Emergency First Response) course for you
  • Hold a PADI Rescue Diver certification, or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 40 logged dives before starting the course, with logged experience in deep diving and underwater navigation
  • Complete a PADI medical statement and be medically fit to dive, as approved by a physician within the last 12 months
  • Reviewed and agreed to the PADI Membership and License Agreements

Divemaster Equipment

  • Basic scuba equipment – Buoyancy Control Device (BCD), regulators with alternate air source and depth gauge, mask, snorkel, fins, wet suit.  Please note: Tanks, weights and weight belts are provided by Similan Queen; all other basic equipment is available for hire
  • Timing device with seconds (a waterproof watch or dive computer)
  • Further dive equipment to meet the PADI Divemaster performance requirements – these items are available for purchase from Similan Queen Diving Center:
